Ron Paul, Please Pull Out of the Race.

September 13, 2011

Americans: they kind of look like human beings.

Ron Paul is clearly becoming senile. What evidence do I have of that? He thinks Americans can be reasoned with, that they are not a nation of rubes with IQs averaging 98. Americans really believe that they were attacked on 9/11 because of their alleged freedoms and alleged prosperity. They can’t conceive of a causal relationship between their own military and political interventionism and their victims’ desire for retaliation. No, that has nothing to do with it. It’s Americans’ freedoms. Good Christ Americans are dumb. Watch this exchange between Santorum and Paul from last night’s “Tea Party” “debate”:

You can’t reason with stupid. Why is he wasting his time and all those donors’ money? Just let it go, old man. Let. It. Go. The good guys lost. Years ago. The whole shithouse is coming down and the truth is you couldn’t have stopped it anyway. So let it go. If Ron Paul is so deluded as to believe that these morons can be reasoned with or that they exist in small enough numbers for him to overcome in the Republican primaries, then he has no business being anywhere near the nuclear launch codes. Delusion is delusion. I’d rather have a self-serving sex-addict like Bill Clinton be President — someone who knows how stupid Americans are and takes advantage of them (“I feel your pain.”) — than some guy who sees some issues clearly but is so deluded he can’t even adequately discern the intellectual demographics of his own country.

Personally, I take a lot of satisfaction in watching witless American rubes impose financial disaster and a police state on themselves. It’s called schadenfreude, I suppose, but I just like seeing the universe operate a certain way. Dr. Paul should too. He’s got his gold. He’ll be fine. And no one can say he didn’t try. He’s been warning for 4 decades about what was coming and explaining why. He’s done more than any reasonable person, of which America has very few, could ask of him. So now let it go, Ron. Just let it go. Do as Fred Reed recommends and

…enjoy the onrushing atrophy. Is the United States going to hell, western civilization being subverted, knaves scuttling like fetid crabs through the corridors of power and nitwits ravaging the schools in the manner of monkeys in a fruit store? (Yes, actually.) Relish it for the splendid historical theater that it is. A better spectacle there cannot be.

I say this seriously. If you regard yourself as audience rather than participant, the accelerating collapse becomes entertainment. You read each morning’s headlines with zest to see what new and preposterous clownishness erupts from Washington. It is high comedy.

Just go away, dude. You tried, you failed. Now sit back and profit from the collapse. But for God’s sake, shut the hell up and stop trying to save these fools. They don’t want what you’re selling, and frankly, I don’t want you trying to sell it to them. I’m invested in the collapse of their civilization, too.

    Michael-

You’re more than correct. I’m post politics, and while I was a huge supporter of Ron Paul in 2008, he’s wasting his time in 2012 since the American Public were too stupid & distracted to understand what he was talking about in 2008, and find themselves in the same predicament as 2008: Too stupid & distracted.

He shouldn’t drop out; it is way to entertaining to watch him drive the warmongers insane.
